Хм. Не понял. Т.е. POS - это просто рабочее место AX? Нет отдельного решения типа Microsoft Retail POS со своим сервером и последующей синхронизацией с DAX со схлопыванием проводок?

POS - это как раз отдельное ПО для магазина. Со своим сервером и т.п. Интеграция с back-office одновременно и онлайн (поиск клиента например), так и офф-лайн - по закрытию смены.

POS можно немного расширять, разрабатывая свои dll, но это доступно только для определенных функций.

В R2 появились хоть какие-то бизнес-процессы под ритейл - пополнение магазинов, расширенная работа с номенклатурой и ценообразованием, концессия. По руководству разбираться тяжело - желательно сразу виртуалку смотреть.
