Cumulative Update 7 for Dynamics AX R2 has been released today!  Download it from Partner Source or Customer Source.

Besides 60 country specific regulatory updates and many quality improvements, these areas have been enhanced:

• New options for configuring workflows for vendor invoices.

• External documents can now be sent as email to a customer or vendor by using the email address that is specified by the address purpose field. Any report can be sent as email to an internal employee by using the worker title.

• You can create a budget plan worksheet template for Excel by using a wizard in Microsoft Dynamics AX.
• The budget allocation process is easier, because you can use ledger allocation rules for budgets.
• Budget planning workflows can be set up so that they can’t be accidentally deleted or reset.
• Budget planning workflows can be set up so that they require a parent budget plan.
• You can specify whether budget planning user groups (XDS policies) are used for budget planning. You can also specify the number of associated budget plan lines to include when budget plans are exported to Excel.
• You can view worksheet and justification documents from the Budget plan page in Enterprise Portal for Microsoft Dynamics AX.
• The process of creating a budget plan from an existing budget plan is enhanced.

• You can now transfer more than one fixed asset at the same time.
• The acquisition cost of fixed assets can include a miscellaneous charge amount.
• The process for acquisition proposals or depreciation proposals for fixed assets can now be run in a batch process.

• An Excel template for journal entries is included on the virtual machine for demo data.
• More understandable posting messages for journal lines that have errors in the account combination.
• Delete an unposted journal that contains lines.
• View advanced rules for a main account.
• Easier dimension setup for Excel integration.

• The configuration keys for public sector organizations in France are enabled by default, hence the primary address of the organization no longer has to be in France if you want to use the French public sector accounting rules.
• You can now dispose of more than one fixed asset at the same time.

• Prompt for a reason code when the cashier opens the cash register drawer without performing a sale transaction.
• You can post store transactions from statements based on the end of the business day instead of the calendar day.
• You can use a new statement method to calculate statements by shift.
• Passwords can now be changed and reset in Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail POS.
• Cashiers can view additional customer account information in Retail POS.

Имейте в виду что
If you have previously installed the Data Import/Export Framework from InformationSource, you must fully uninstall it before installing again with cumulative update 7 for Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2. This includes removing all binary files by using Add/Remove Programs, and the uninstalling Data Import/Export Framework model

Иначе при установке Database компонент инсталлятор говорит что вы где-то что-то нехорошее сделали с перекрытыми конфигурационными ключами, но что где и с какими - не говорит. Гадина, пол-выходного угробил

With the recent release of Cumulative Update 7 for Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2, the case management functionality of Microsoft Dynamics AX has been enhanced for documenting and releasing product changes to production.

Many manufacturing companies will welcome this simple built in possibility of creating product change cases to document component substitutions in bills of materials or formulas, or changes in the production route, and of being able to visualize the impact of such component changes.

The new product change functionality provides enhanced support for approval and activation of the changes to bills of materials, formulas and routes that are associated with a product change case, which reduces the effort needed for releasing product changes to planning and production. This new capability also offers a new opportunity to integrate changes from an external PLM solution into Microsoft Dynamics AX with the context of the PLM change order with enhanced support for validation, approval and activation in production.

The diagram below illustrates the overall product change process, and highlights those elements (with black outline) that are supported by the new product change features in Cumulative Update 7 for Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2.

Cumulative update 7 for Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2 is now available on CustomerSource and PartnerSource and we've posted new content to support it on TechNet and MSDN.

To view details of the supporting content that is available for the new features in CU7, see What's new in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2 cumulative update 7. Also, the New, Changed, and Deprecated features guide is now available as individual topics in the Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 library on TechNet. The guide has been thoroughly updated, so take a look!

New features for each audience in CU7 include the following:

Application users

Module updates: A number of features have been added for application users, particularly in the following modules: Accounts payable, Accounts receivable, Budgeting, Fixed assets, General ledger, Human resources, Inventory and warehouse management, Payroll, Procurement and sourcing, Product information management, Production control, Project management and accounting, Public Sector, Retail, and Sales and marketing.

Other new features:

• Office Add-ins for Microsoft Dynamics AX
• Sales tax processing

Companion apps: Along with cumulative update 7 for Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2, Microsoft is releasing several companion apps that work with the product. These apps are compatible only with installations of cumulative update 7 or later for Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2.

Country/region-specific features: There are many new country/region-specific features, particularly for the following countries: Belgium, Brazil, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Russia, Spain, and Switzerland.

System administrators

A number of features have been added for system administrators. Key features include:

• Update installer now includes support for selecting application updates based on module, configuration key, country/region, or business process model from Lifecycle Services, as well as automatically merging code changes when possible.
• VSS writer support for backing up and restoring AX 2012 R2 with System Center Data Protection Manager.
• Data import/export framework available from the update installer, and supports many new entities.
• Reporting changes include: Windows PowerShell command for integrating multiple Reporting Services instances with Microsoft Dynamics AX, ability to email reports to specific people by using tokens, new methods for setting advanced printer properties, and that Management Reporter can now be installed with Microsoft Dynamics AX from Setup.

Developers

A number of features have been added for developers. Key features include:

• AxBuild.exe is a new tool that accomplishes a full X++ compile to p-code on the AOS. Using this tool is much faster than compiling on the client.
• Reporting changes include: Windows PowerShell command for integrating multiple Reporting Services instances with Microsoft Dynamics AX, a new class that improves the performance of the report server, the ability to email reports to specific people by using tokens, new methods for setting advanced printer properties, an updated Compare Tool for SSRS Reports, and that Management Reporter can now be installed with Microsoft Dynamics AX from Setup.

The Dynamics AX In-Market Engineering team released Cumulative Update 7 for Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2 (6.2.1000.4051) on Nov 1, 2013. This release includes all previously released cumulative updates for Dynamics AX 2012 R2 plus additional hotfixes, regulatory updates, and enhancements to existing business processes.

Cumulative update 7 is the third cumulative update for Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2. Please note for cumulative update 6, we changed the numbering scheme for cumulative updates to Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2. There were no cumulative updates numbered 2, 3, 4, or 5 for Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2.

Before you install this cumulative update package, we recommend that you read Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2 Cumulative Update 7 release notes carefully.
