Is your Dynamics AX tab missing from the Excel menu, even though the Dynamics AX Office add-ins has been installed? If your Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Client and Microsoft Office Add-ins is installed on the machine (you can see this in Programs and Features> Installed Updates), you’ll find the solution below.

Solution for missing Excel tab missing in Dynamics AX:

Make sure the COM Add-in is active in Excel. Do this by opening Excel, then go to File> Options> Add-Ins. In this window, under Active Application Add-ins, you should see Microsoft Dynamics AX-Add-in for Microsoft Excel listed like below.




If it is not, then click on the drop down by Manage: and select COM-Add-in and click on Go.





Check the box by Microsoft Dynamics AX Add-in for Microsoft Excel and click Ok.





Now you should see Dynamics AX in your Excel menu.




Close out of Excel, and re-open it. If Dynamics AX is missing again, then change the LoadBehaviour to a 3 in the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Office\Excel\Addins\Microsoft.Dynamics.AX.Framework.OfficeAddin.Excel
