purchase order

Hi all, Fields e.g Project,Project Manager, Client which are displayed on the purchase order document under the suppliers name and address, should not print on the purchase layout document if these fields are empty. Any help would be appreciated. How to go about it.Thanks

What is a «purchase order document» and a «purchase layout document»? Are you talking about the PurchTable form or about some kind of a report?

That is what Im confused about, this is additional information, This report or form has following fields under suppliers name and address,
Project Manager: (Name of project manager)
Client (Projects customer name)
Project start date:
Project end date:


If it is a report how to hide fields if empty? where to change code?

Well, there are several documents you can print from there: purchase order, receipt list, packing slip, invoice (the number of documents can vary depending on the localized functionality). Do you have do modify all of them?

First off you must find the report which design you'll have to modify. You can achieve this by setting a breakpoint in the \Classes\ClassFactory\reportRunClass() method, next to last line of code:

args.name(selectedReport);

Then print the report as usually and when a debugger pops up look at the selectedReport variable value - this will give you a name of a node in the \Reports AOT subtree. Then you'll probably have to set AutoDeclaration property to Yes for the report controls you want to hide and play with their visibility depending on the corresponding field values. This can be done, for instance, in the fetch() method before a corresponding section is executed. It's hard to say in detail as there can be lots of nuances in the report design. For instance, one report can be used both for sales and purchase orders and you'll have to keep this in mind during modifications.

hi all, I was looking for documentation on modules in Dynamics AX. I have read the book by steen anderson .Im finding it hard to find any documentation on flow of processes in Dynamics. e.g what procedures and flows are invloved in sales ledger.To give an example, I was trying to put a new field on a report in Purchase module. Now I dont know the tables invloved to get the field. It goes through so many tables and processes that i get confused. Hope you understanding my issue.Any links to read more bout flow and processes involved in sales and purchase modules etc. Thanks
