Hi there! What first we should create in Axapta? I will tell you about different business process and their implementation in Axapta so we should have one data to work with.

In this training lesson we will create new company in Dynamics AX (Axapta) and import demo data.

Create new company

1. Go to Administration -> Company accounts. The Company form will be shown
2. Create new record (Ctrl+N). Populate fields: “AXT” in the Company accounts field, “Dynamics AX Training” in the Name of company accounts fieldCompany account
   
   
3. Save the record (Ctrl+S)

Good, our new AXT company is ready.

Switch to AXT company:

1. Click on the current company (placed in the bottom right corner). The Select company accounts forms will be shown

2. Select “AXT” record. And click Ok.

Axapta will change company from DAT to AXT.

Tip: when you login in Axapta next time you should change company from DAT to AXT again. You can setup other default company.

Let’s setup the AXT company as default company:

1. Click on Axapta menu Tools -> Options…
   Tools menu
   
   
2. The Options form will be shown. On the General tab find Start company accounts field and select AXT company. Close the form.

Import demo data.

1. Download demo file and definition file. Extract and save these files in one folder
2. Return to Axapta. Ensure that current company is AXT. Go to Administration -> Periodic -> Data export/import -> Import. The Import options forms will be shown
3. Populate the File name field with path to downloaded demo file. Click Ok.

This process is time consuming. Approximately 10 minutes. When import is finished the message will be shown.

That is all! Our new AXT company with demo data has been created.
