Channel9 CRM: CRM Translation Tool
Источник: http://channel9.msdn.com/posts/giris...nslation-Tool/
==============

Microsoft Dynamics CRM is a true multi-lingual product for the global market. While multi-lingual capability is a great feature, it sets higher expectations on developers to provide translations for all their customizations. With CRM available in over 41 languages through language packs, it is certainly not an easy task. Well, fear no more as Joris Kalz (Partner Technical Advisor from Microsoft Germany) demonstrates the tool he built to simplify the translation process.

In this video, I chat with Joris Kalz about language packs in CRM and how his translation tool helps automate some of the manual work involved in translating the application labels & display messages. Though this tool was built against CRM 4.0 , it would work with CRM 2011 because of backwards compatibility of the web services and it is very relevant today for partners worldwide. Joris initially built this tool to help localize some of the CRM accelerators and soon found out this tool to be an invaluable resource to improve productivity in translating the labels.

The tool is smart enough so that you can re-use out of box entity translations for your custom entity labels as well. The tool just doesn’t do simple string matching but it algorithmically calculates distance between words to find similarities with what is already stored in the CRM system. This provides for consistency in the labels that an end user experiences. The tool takes it one step further by allowing you to use a 3rd party translation utility like Bing Translator if you don’t have an existing translation.

This translation tool will be soon published on Joris Kalz’s blog here: http://blogs.msdn.com/joris_kalz/

To view the demo with more clarity, please use the high-resolution version of the video.
Thanks,
