everythingdynamicsaxbi: Tips and tricks for Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations
Источник: http://www.everythingdynamicsaxbi.co...nd-operations/
==============

I thought I’d share my top Tips and Tricks for Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations. When working with the application you always learn some new shortcuts and cool features that makes your life easier. Let’s take a look!

1. User Interface

Home.dynamics.com

As a consultant you are probably working with multiple instances of Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, Sales or Customer Service or perhaps you are a customer with a lot of different Microsoft applications. Going to https://home.dynamics.com/ lists all your different Dynamics 365 applications in one interface and it’s the easiest way of getting into an application. You’ll see all the Dynamics 365 apps, but also Office 365, Power Apps, Power BI, Flow etc. A really quick thing, but it’s great for user adoption.

Peek Behind

If you have a short term memory when working inside the application you can always see the information behind panels. I’ve been using this feature a lot when working in the different forms. Let’s say you are working with sales orders and are going to create a new sales order and in the “All sales orders” window there are some information you need that you’ve already forgotten. Instead of canceling the process you can just use peek behind. With the sidebar open just click outside the sidebar and the sidebar hides itself. Take a look at the video below to see it in action:

 Pin to dashboard

On the default dashboard (or the Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations start page) you will see a list of all the different workspaces that you have access to. You can click on them and it will take you to the details of that specific workspace. But did you know that you can pin different tiles from inside the workspace and make them visible on the default dashboard? This will give you a summary of the things that are important to you as a user, but also shortcuts to key processes directly from the default dashboard. Take a look below were I add details to the “Purchase order preparation” workspace:

2. Mobile Workspaces

You’ve probably seen all the different workspaces in Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, but did you know about Mobile Workspaces? This is a very useful and cool feature. You can basically turn any form in the application into an mobile app or a offline mobile app – without writing a single line of code:

Personally I think that is pretty darn cool! So if you want to look like a rockstar in your organization, that’s the way to do it

3. Task guides

I guess everyone has some kind of relationship with task guides. You get a list of steps and it’s sometimes easy to lose track of how far you have gotten in the process. In Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations task guides are a bit different. Going to the help button -> Help -> Task Guides in any form will list the available guides for that specific process area and you will see all the steps for the selected task guides. What differentiates Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations task guides from regular task guides is that the task guides are interactive. They will show you where to go to complete the process you are working with:

You can also create your own recordings using the Task Recorder and add them as Task Guides for your organization to use.

 4. OData Queries in Power BI

For reporting you can use the OData Queries inside Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations. If you edit the URL of your environment and add “data” to the end of it(https:///data), D365 will list all the different entities available for reporting via OData:

So let’s say I want to report on Sales Order Lines I can simply add the entity name to the end of my environment URL:
